CooperI love this size canvas.  Its 8 x 24 and it is fun to do vertical like this or horizontal like the ones below.  Really great if you have a wall that is not very wide, but needs something.  I enjoyed doing this one for my neighbor's little boy's room.  Can you guess the theme of his room??? Each year for preschool, we, the parents are asked to send in 12 little goodies for the kids' end of the year summer survival bucket.  I decided to do something a little different this year since it was our last year at the preschool.  I got 12 wooden frames and painted the boys brown with green circles to match the palm tree (already made) and I painted the girls' frames yellow and red to match

Its kinda hard to tell what this will look like "finished" because Kayla herself will have to finish it by putting three pictures in the clear picture frames.  The background is turquoise and cream and a little lime green to match her bedding for her college room.  The verse says "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord."

It looks kinda wrinkled because it is actually a wedding invitation that has a crease down the middle. Once its framed I'm sure it will be flattened out.  Had to get a quick shot of this though before I sent it off in a hurry.  Had to get it to the lady who ordered it before their rehearsal dinner.

I painted this the other day to match a baby's nursery bedding.  This baby is going to be the first girl but the fourth child in this family, so I also painted a little door hanger that matched that says "No Boys Allowed". The verse if from Song of Songs 2:4, "Show me your face, let me hear your sweet voice.  For your voice is sweet and your face is lovely."

I wish I could take credit for the "Rembrandt" look of this painting, but the truth is, it was the work of the photographer. I painted this from a picture. When I was first given the picture I wasn't sure I would be able to replicate it, because it looked more like an "oil" type painting than a watercolor, but I was amazed that it was just as pretty in watercolor...I think.

I did this painting recently for a couple.  I believe it is his grandpa's or father's land which was being sold soon and it held a lot of sentimental value for them.  This painting is acrylic on canvas (36 x 48).  Definitely one of my biggest paintings on canvas.

I didn't realize how much I loved the combination of these colors until I started painting.  I always think of primary colors as "traditional" kids room and usually associated with boys, but these are really girly, but not using the typical girly colors.  Lotsa fun.

The lady I was doing these paintings for sent me two pictures to choose from. I liked both, so I did both.  As it turns out, I like the one with the faces better.  You gotta love two adorable little smiling faces, right?  Oh, but there is something special about the one of them walking away too.  That one will probably have more sentimental value as they grow up.

I was messing around trying to figure out a cool way to paint a guitar. I love the way the paint marbled together in this one.  It was one of those happy accidents.  Tried to do it again and it didn't want to happen.  Funny how that works.

I love shadows and knew when I saw this photo it was going to be as much about the shadows as it was about the house.  I thank God for shadows...not just because they're beautiful to look at but because of what they remind me of in life. The bedding that this was taken from is a really cute bunny toile, so I pulled out a couple of the characters in the bedding and used part of the landscape for the background. This will go above baby Luke's crib.  Now they're just waiting for little baby Luke.

This is a great idea for a little girl's nursery especially if you don't really know bedding pattern. All we knew about this was that the baby's nursery was mostly pastel girly colors. This pattern usually works in most nurseries with pastels.

I didn't come up with the phrase, but Mica found it and asked me to match Belle's bedding. I love how it turned out. Might have to do more of these. Belle's cross...the cross is wooden and attached onto the canvas. There will be a verse at the bottom too. This is done to coordinate with her bedding. I also used a crackle finish on the yellow; it gives it an aged effect.

These are actually a set of canvases; the yellow with polka dots (11x14) is attached to the paisley one (16 x 20) to create a 3D effect. The smaller one (8 x 10) is attached with velcro so that it can be taken off when the baby comes home from the hospital and can be placed in a small easle or on the wall.

these precious paintings are for a baby boy's nursery; his bedding is a beautiful light blue/tan toile. The verses are Psalm 4:8, Isaiah 40:1 and Psalm 127:3. I really enjoyed this project.

Ms. Kay is my wonderful Bible study teacher. We studied the book of Philippians a few months ago, so as a thank you to her I painted a verse from Philippians 4. As I painted it and sketched out how it would look, I wrote the verse over and over (Phil. 4:8) and because of that I have this wonderful scripture memorized. God teaches me even through my own paintings, isn't that cool?

The girls' last day of preschool was on Thursday; we had been to the beach and had just gotten back on Tuesday. Between laundry and groceries and trying to get back to normal I had forgotten all about teachers' gifts. I dismissed it and thought, "well, its no big deal", but then I felt really bad. Their teachers have been wonderful this year and I needed to do something to thank them...and QUICK!

I'm so jealous. The lady I did this for was getting this done for her husband to tell him they had paid off their house! Oh the bliss! I can't even imagine since we move every 2 years or so (which means we're due for a move actually) and we re-finance every time we move. What a great thing to celebrate though! Way to go!
