Names in watercolor
These watercolors are the girls' names and their spiritual meaning. Underneath the name meaning I put a verse that goes a long with the meaning. My mom and dad used to have a plaque with my name and meaning (and verse) on it when I was young and I always remembered it. There was something special about it; just knowing my name meant something and that maybe I could live up to it. Very cool. Anyway, i did one of these for each of my girls and I did one for my four neices and nephews. They are all 8 x 10 on watercolor paper. I put them in a cute white frame (no matte, because there is a border already on it). These are $20 if anyone is interested. They do make wonderful gifts and a frame of that size is not very expensive (I will frame it for you for $40). Anyway, these pictures are just of the ones I did for my girls. The other ones I haven't gotten pictures of yet.

sweet neices and nephew
I did these little cartoon paintings of my neices and nephew for their Christmas presents this year. I was so excited to give them to them. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see them as we had planned at Christmas time. We made plans to see eachother this weekend though, so I got the paintings down off of a high shelf in my closet. I put a clear varnish on them and set them out to dry. I thought they were safe, but on Wednesday I came into my room to find Isabelle, my three year old, drawing all over them with a paint pen. Kelly and the kids were coming on Friday, so i didn't have much time to do them over. I was devastated. At least I got a picture of them before the "modifications" were made (by Isabelle).

train
Its more than just art
Why do I put art on the wall? Its pretty to look at. I need something to fill that space maybe? Those are both good reasons; I got to thinking about it. The things that I look at daily should be meaningful too. That's why I started to do the name art. Its cute, I like making things that are cute for my kids' rooms, but when something has a verse on it, its GOD'S WORD!!! If I put it up on my wall I have reminders of what He has to say to me all through the day. Doing the canvases for people helps me to learn scripture and as I teach my young girls, I realize just how important it is to KNOW the WORD. I have a long way to go. I have far too little memorized, but the more I do, the more I learn. Thank you to everyone who has asked me to do some work for you because you are helping me to be closer to my Lord and Saviour!
I did one canvas with I Corinthians 13:4-8 on it (Love is patient, love is kind...) and I put it in my daughter's room to remind myself about love. So, when I get frustrated with her when she cries and I don't know why i look up and there it is...reminding me of what love is and how to do it.

More name art
Portraits
I've enjoyed doing watercolors for many years and have started to do some pastel work too. Snap shot portraits are my favorite. My paintings aren't an exact replica of the photo. I add and take out certain elements that are needed or not necessary. The best paintings come from pictures that aren't close ups of faces. That's because you want an exact likeness when you're that close up. Mother and daughter paintings, sibling paintings, baby paintings...these are the sweetest. I cherish the paintings I have of Belle as a baby. They remind me of a quieter time in my life.

Isabelle's room
introducing....BUSYBELLE
So, here it is...BUSYBELLE ART! I'm kathy, Busybelle's mama. Isabelle is my busy baby (not a baby anymore...she's almost 4). I've called her that since she was in my tummy. She definitely keeps me busy.
When she was born I started to do a lot of name art for her room and then decided to do these as baby gifts. These are great for kids' rooms and for newborn gifts. I've taken few pictures of the ones that I've done, but as soon as I get the ones I'm working on done, i'll post 'em. That way I can more easily share what I do and can start taking more orders!
